SURPASS Digital

AMC (Amsterdam Medical Center) invented and developed the SURPASS checklist for patient safety in 2009. To improve usage of the checklist and streamline the checklist process, AMC contracted Middletree to develop an electronic version of the checklist. In 2011, AMC and Middletree rolled out SURPASS Digital, a web-based checklist application fully integrated into AMC's hospital information systems. In a period of just 6 weeks, AMC completed the switch from paper-based SURPASS to SURPASS Digital.

SURPASS Digital is a state of the art web application, built with the latest web standards and technology. This has the following advantages:

• easy integration -- SURPASS Digital can be easily integrated into hospital's EPR-applications, such as Chipsoft OkPlus and Metavision PDMS.
• ease of use -- SURPASS Digital's user interface has been designed so it can be used with minimal training. During the years improvements have been made based on user feedback and commen usecases.
• increased mobility -- SURPASS Digital can be used from any modern web browser on any platform.
• Support for any language- starting with version 3.0 every text-item used within the application can be easily translated and modified.

AMC and Middletree started a partnership to offer SURPASS Digital to other hospitals worldwide.
